The Youth Development Program Coordinator will join a multi-faceted team including Clergy, Teachers, Sunday School members, and parents whose mission in this project is to:
• Create more relevant and impactful programs to support the spiritual and social-emotional development needs of the youth
• Guide, mentor, and enable youth to be active participants and servants in their faith and community
• Connect youth to resources to support their mental well being
• Facilitate tutoring, shadowing, and networking opportunity with professionals
• This is a part-time position (0.25 FTE/10hrs per week, now to June 30, 2023) which may require working on some Saturdays and Sundays. In addition the coordinators will support a program that is planned for youth during one weekday (one evening)
• The coordinators will report to the Evangelism and Education Department within the Parish Council

Job Description
• Responsible for planning and executing the Youth Development Program and will closely work with the Sunday School on the Weekday Faith Education Program
• Support the English Service Program
• Especially participate in the outreach program with highschool graduates and college students
• Accountable for excellent participation by all youth groups in the youth programs and support the youth on a 1:1 basis to address their emotional/spiritual needs (using professional and peer volunteers)
• Develop and execute youth-centered age-appropriate activities
• Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Youth Development Program
• Expected to arrange and communicate with volunteer youth team members
• Build relationships with families to strengthen and promote social and emotional growth in youth
• Create monthly program calendar, including daily schedule and special events in reference to the Sunday School, Education Program and English Service programs
• Plan monthly and weekly lesson plans that are in line with the Sunday School and English Service programs goals, objectives, and work plans

Job Requirements
• There are 2 positions available: 1 male coordinator and 1 female coordinator
• Coordinators should have lived experiences similar to the youth/kids who grew up in the US
• Cultural and linguistic (English and Amharic) competency that enables the coordinator to connect with the youth
• Baptized Orthodox Tewahedo Christian
• Great communication and interpersonal skill
• Knowledgeable on the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo faith, doctrines, cannons, and orders
• Liaison between youth (Terekabi) and Church, parents, and elderly (Asrekabi); able to understand and work with various age groups
• Re’ese Adbarat Tserhar Aryam Kidist Selassie Cathedral EOTC member, preferably
Nice to have
• Experience working in outreach programs
• Educational or professional experience in one or more of the following areas: project management, youth psychology, social service, public health, and working with various stakeholders
