Program Director -- COVID Community Coordinator

Duration: 3 month [Oct until Dec. 31, 2020] with potential to extend into 2021 based on grant availability.
We are seeking for an experienced and enthusiastic program director who will plan and implement the day-to-day operation of Covid Community Coordinators, ensure policy and procedures are followed, work as content expert on Covid-19, communicate with MDH and stakeholders gaps in community needs, evaluate programs and write reports to MDH. This is a full-time position which requires working from Monday to Friday (with occational weekend coverage).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Manage full-time equivalent staff (some may be part time employees).
• Ensure Covid Community Coordinators receive up-to-date Covid-related information and resources and ensure reliable and up to date information is provided to community members.
• Coordinate with MDH and local public health (LPH) departments in the Covid-19 response to connect Ethiopians in the Twin Cities to meet the full range of Covid-related needs.
• Communicates gaps in existing resources to MDH and LPH departments to provide resources to community members Manage the day to day operation of Covid-19 hotline, coordinate hotline training, track hotline outcomes and report to MDH.
• Coordinate and manage staffing needed in planning of testing sites, ensure translation of materials is available on time for community scheduled community testings.
• Coordinates efforts in pre-registering community members for Covid-19 testing and follow up on resources needed. Provide input to MDH, local public health, and other partners about COVID-19-related needs and issues in the Ethiopian community.
• Evaluate reach and impact of contract work (with support from Rainbow Research).
• Submit a report to MDH summarizing all work done and progress toward all objectives.
• Assist in planning the Covid-19 response project is continued for the year 2021 or until the end of pandemic.
• Provide professional development and coaching to staff.
• Support weekend coverage as needed.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
‐ Graduate degree in public health, nursing or allied health sciences, or equivalent practice degree.
‐ Knowledge in resources in response to Covid-19 impact in the community.
‐ Highly recommend experience in managing non profit and writing reports.
‐ Proficient in speaking and writing in English and Amharic to communicate with staff and funders.
‐ Eligible to work in the United States.
