The Community Engagement Specialist will join a multi-faceted team including COVID Community Coordinators (CCCs), Community Engagement Director, Social Services Specialist, Faith Community Health Program Coordinator, volunteers, community organizations, outside agencies and the Church's Parish Council whose mission in this project is to:
• Create more relevant and impactful community engagement programs and content and
• Find resources and connect the diverse community members impacted by COVID -19 and related life hardships.
This is a part-time position (0.5 FTE) which may require working on some Saturdays and Sundays; generally scheduled within Monday thru Friday (8-4:30pm).

Job Discription
• Work with the Director, CCCs, Faith Community Health Program and the Parish Council to bridge all communication channels and work as a human resources agent. You will forge community education events, connect agencies to CCC programs and work with Social Services Specialists in providing educational resources to underserved communities in their own languages.
• Work with the Informational Technology department to create and disseminate messages to the communities about testing and vaccination opportunities in a timely manner as well as work with the Church’s PR to ensure timely dissemination of community health education and information to the communities.
• Work with translation and Interpretation services to help community members access information and resources in their own language.
• Work with other departments, internally and externally, to provide information and insight into growing diverse audiences. You will also communicate with all project partners on a regular basis.
• Assist the Director with planning and executing outreach and training projects.
• Assist the Director with the general operations of community engagement, and other events.
• Assist the Director in management of volunteers and staff to ensure a positive experience and positive event outcomes are achieved.

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, public health or related field (essential).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in Amharic and English).
• Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
• Proven social media and networking expertise.
• Strategic and creative mindset.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience working in diverse community (essential)
• Leadership skill (preferred)
• Have an IT background (preferred)
• Culturally competent
• Eligible to work in the United States
